11 | Mark Blicavs on Learning, Leadership and Being Comfortable with Making Mistakes.
Description
Today I get to sit down with my younger brother, Mark.
Currently, he is a key member of the Geelong Cats Football Club, has played over 200 games a two-time winner of the Carji Greeves medal for the Club Best and Fairest and played a significant role in Geelong's 2022 AFL Premiership.
In our conversation, we visit Mark's unique back story around how he transitioned from elite athletics to AFL Football, how a freak injury during a running camp at Falls Creek has greatly contributed to his durability throughout his AFL career and explore his approach to continually learning new skills as an AFL footballer.
Along with this, we discuss the famous culture of the Geelong Football Club, how that culture has lead to long term success and why so many players want to get down to Kardinia Park to become part of this amazing club.
A great discussion around learning, culture and the beauty found in making mistakes, Mark provides plenty of insight into the life of an AFL footballer and his constant quest for improvement. If you're looking for Mark, he can be found on Instagram at @itsbliitz . It was great to catch up with him and hopefully you enjoy listening our time together.
